Van gezisinde çektiğim fotoğraflar..
Akdamar Adası ve Akdamar Kilisesi
Adanın adının nereden geldiğine dair yaygın halk hikayesine göre, zamanında bu adada yaşayan baş keşişin güzelliği dillere destan Tamara adında bir kızı vardır. Adanın çevresindeki köylerde çobanlık yapan Müslüman bir genç bu kıza âşık olur. Bu genç Tamara'yla buluşmak için her gece adaya yüzer. Tamara ise ona gece karanlığında yerini belli etmek için onu bir fenerle bekler. Bundan haberdar olan kızın babası, fırtınalı bir gecede elinde fenerle adanın kıyısına iner ve sürekli yer değiştirerek gencin boşuna yüzüp, gücünü yitirmesine neden olur. Yüzmekten gücünü yitirip, yorulan genç çoban boğulur ve boğulmadan önce son nefesiyle "Ah Tamara!" diye haykırır. Bunu duyan kız da hemen ardından kendini gölün sularına bırakarak boğulur. Ah Tamara! isminin dönüşerek zamanla Ahtamar biçimini aldığı anlatılır.
